Put your goggles down, my friend,
We're going on a trip!
Around the world and to it's end,
Inside my cosmic aether ship.

The engine starts and purrs content,
The steam filled boilers shaking.
The tinkered arms spread out and bend,
While my iron hawk is waking.

Far away, in open skies,
Where the westwind-falcon flies,
To the realm of floating lands,
Of unbound highs and drifting strands.
On shiny wings of copper gold,
We're gliding on the upwinds bold.

The abbey of the ravens waits,
The castle in the air.
And while the wind of fury fades,
We see the roofs of Steamtown flare.

Countless buildings fill the sea,
The ocean of the stars.
And while the clockwork ticks with glee,
I'm raising altitude and bars.

To the gates of dawn we ride,
Through dark horizons in the night
And brave into the newborn day
Across the bridge of it's first ray,
Until we reach the southern banks,
Of the land of cats and fangs.

The unbent twin peaks rising up
Above the jungle isles.
And while I drink my tea, a cup,
The queen of airship pirates smiles.

Far up north run icy brooks
In steady falling snow.
The mighty, misty mountain looks
Majestic in the arctic blow.

Above the azure sky of dreams,
To where the eastern hopeland gleams,
We go into the white cloud's haze,
Around the floating creek, it's maze;
And forward in my rusty bird,
Until your sight, your worldview's blurred.
This poem is basically a kitschy overview of the world my steampunky fantasy novels are set in. It's a planet called Aetheria that consists solely of flying islands with a mythical ground somewhere below, that no one has ever seen.

Spot the two power metal references and receive a cookie. A BLACK cookie! OF STEEL! (which is kinda hard to eat, but if you are a true metalhead, you can do it). xD

Brimming with a kaleidoscope of dazzling imagery, well done. If I may though, I think "Amid the Azure Skies" might work better?
