Literature Text

My proud, black flag hangs lost in tatters,
My precious cutlass lie in shatters,
The skull and bones are long since broken
And one cursed coin my only token.

Too much ale and too much rum,
Too many fights and opium
Have for years now taken toll;
My final foe is alcohol.

A pretty girl in every port,
With legs so long, and temper short,
Would fall like stormwind 'round my neck,
But like my ship, I'm just a wreck.

My planks decayed, my sail is rotten,
My shady fame, so long forgotten.
I've cast the anchor on this shore,
With waves and palm trees to adore.

I've tricked ol' Davy many times,
Have committed countless crimes,
Escaped the gallows here and there;
The scythe comes slowly for it's share.

My crew is gone, but mostly dead,
No more gold and spreading dread;
And nowadays it is just me,
An old pirate and the sea.
